    Phil,

Actually the 8040RKM will not be made available.

Rather, we are releasing the TUSB8040ARKM and associated evaluation board by the end of April.  Samples are available now, please contact your TI sales rep to request samples or a preliminary EVM.

The summary of changes from the TUSB8040PFP to the TUSB8040ARKM are:

    • New Package
    • All published errata fixed.
    • Three new functions:
      • Spread Spectrum Clock (SSC) disable / enable
      • Power Management Control (PWRONz) Polarity swap
      • U1 / U2 partial disable
    • Lower power consumption
      • < 90 mW power consumption in Disconnect Mode
      • < 90 mW power consumption in Suspend Mode (SuperSpeed in U3, USB 2.0 in Suspend)
      • 400 mW decrease in SuperSpeed mode operation
      • 700 mW decrease in USB 2.0 mode operation
      • Additional 300 mW decrease in SuperSpeed mode with U1/ U2 enabled.

    Regards, Dan

Thank you for the info.  Will a TUSB8040APFP be released at the same time?

    Thanks
    Phil

    Phil,

There is no plan to do the TUSB8040A in the PFP package due to the limitation it puts on the functionality of the device.
