and yes, the firmware is load safe because you are loading the firmware in the EEPROM, not on the 9261 also, if there is no EEPROM on te system, the 9261 loads its bootloader.

I load the software to the EEPROM, it show that the load succeed. when i unplug and plug it to the PC, The PC show that, fault to load the drive for USB Mass Storage Device. What's the problem? Can you help me.we used the TUSB9261, The version of the software is V0.99, and we just used USB2.0, we don,t have USB3.0.  Thanks.

I'm experiencing the exact same issue.  I can program the part, but when when I unplug and plug it into the PC the PC shows that the device is unrecognized and won't load the USB Mass Storage Device.  I'm also using firmware v0.99 and just USB2.0.  What was the solution to your problem?

Hi Alexis,

I will be running this in a Linux system so I went ahead and unselected "UAS enabled" and also made sure that I grabbed FW where there is no SATA polarity swap on the pins.  Using these settings and with FW v1.00 it is now functioning correctly.

Is anyone planning to rewrite this tool?  It really should be written to use libusb instead of requiring a kernel driver...

Also, does TI currently offer a SATA6G version USB->SATA chip?  Our Slim SATA3G boards are going end of life and we're looking to do a redesign with a USB->SATA6G chip.

You can find the latest TUSB926x Flash Burner tool for Linux at the ftp link I pasted in one of my prior posts which was directed to Jonathan. You can find all the documentation about the tool at the same ftp location. The source code is also available at that package.

TUSB926x has a boot loader placed at ROM memory so firmware loading is fail safe sort of speak. Anyhow if you burn a bad firmware binary to the device, it will always enumerate as a TUSB926x boot loader device, the device will enumerate as a USB3 to SATA bridge only if you burn proper firmware images, so I recommend to load to the device only official firmware releases. You can always find the latest firmware at the TUSB926x website.

Could someone post the TUSB926x Linux Flash Burner to the forum? 

I have a custom board with the TUSB9261 connected to an AM3358 running Linux (ARM).  I need the software to program the part in circuit.  I've verified everything works by swapping the flash from the Demo Kit.

From my understanding, the source code is included so that I can cross-compile the code?

I've contacted TI Support directly as well without a reply.

I would also be interested to get the linux tool to flash TUSB 9261 firmware. Could you give me a FTP access too?

BTW I'm using a firmware version 1.03 with my bridge and when i plug the bridge on a linux system, the kernel detects a block device sdx even if there is no sata disk plugged in. Is there a firmware or a way to avoid this? Indeed i would like to have nothing when nothing is plugged and the block devices when a sata disk is plugged.
