Hi Team,

Please help us support our customer using SN65LVPE502B in their application. They have a problem that they cannot pass the USB 3.0 Compliance test. Could you please tell us about the following questions ?

< Customer Condition >
- Compliance test fails on TD 9.23 Reset Device Test. Failure is reproducible.
- When it tested without SN65LVPE502B (bypassed), the compliance test result is PASS.
- SN65LVPE502B is placed at the downstream port side of the USB3.0 HUB.

[Q1]
Does SN65LVPE502B fully support USB3.0 ?

[Q2]
Do you have a test result for CV test and Hub LVS test ?

[Q3]
Do you have any idea why SN65LVPE502B failed TD 9.23 Reset Device Test ?

[Q4]
Is there any Errata for this device ?

[Q5]
What is the difference between SN65LVPE502x and SN65LVPE512 ?
Anything improved at SN65LVPE512 which relates to this compliance test ?

Our customer must clear this problem by 7/28. Your prompt response is greatly appreciated.

    Currently there isn't a errata for this device

    [A5]
    There are slight differences between both devices. Please check the electrical characteristics section in the datasheet

    [Q1]
    USB 3.0 spec REV1.0 seems to have some ECNs and Errata. Does SN65LVPE502B complies all ECNs and errata ?

    [Q2]
    Do you have any compliance test result for CV test and Hub LVS test ?

    [Q3]
    Do you have any idea why customer cannot pass the USB 3.0 compliance test ?
    In their test result, they fail at TD 9.23 that the device will not change to High Speed mode when disabling the SuperSpeed port. The device continues connecting in SuperSpeed.

    Is there only difference in electrical spec between SN65LVPE502x and SN65LVPE512 ?
    What is the background that TI had designed SN65LVPE512 ?

    Is there a proven result using SN65LVPE502B in USB 3.0 application ?

    Hi Gerardo-san and Team,

    Our customer had tried using SN65LVPE512EVM instead of SN65LVPE502. However, there were no differentiation to the compliance test.

    USB 3.0 Compliance Test : TD9.23 could be passed if SN65LVPE502B is bypassed, so the device is thought to be causing the problem.
    In the test report, it mentions that SN65LVPE502B stays connection with SuperSpeed after resetting the device or disabling the SuperSpeed port.

    Customer is suspecting that "ECN 010 DSPORT State Machine" may correlate to the issue.

    They must solve this problem and judge by end of this month. The project is on standby waiting for your response.

    Please help us on the questions and please give us your advice.
