TLK6002: meaning of datasheet annex C

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLK6002

Hi,

I don't clearly undertand the meaning of table 7-1 in TLK6002 datasheet.

Does it mean that the device is only able to encode/decode K28.1, K28.5 and K28.7 and not the rest?

In my application, I also need K28.0, K28.3 and K28.4 support.

Regards,

Pierre

  • Hi Pierre,

The TLK6002 supports all the 8B/10B control characters contanied in Table 7-1.

    K28.0, K28.3 & K28.4 (Reserved) do not contain a comma unlike the K28.1, K28.5 &K28.7. You could take a look into IEEE 802.3-2002 Clause 36 (Table 36-2).

  • Hi Luis,

    That's clear now.
My project is not related to IEEE 802.3-2002 but to JESD204B and I'm looking for a device that is doing 8b/10b de/encoding and de/serializing.
TLK6002 is well suited for this.

    Thanks,
    Pierre
