Hi Team,

My customer is developing one USB Hub product, that need to add one HDMI retime for input HDMI port, but this Hub would not have MCU inside.

Could you help double check if TMDS181 could work without MCU/I2C programming, and just use default register value ?

Or could TMDS181 act as master to read the EEPROM, that with programmed value, during start-up ?

Or for this application condition, do you have some suggestion to add HDMI retime ?

Hi Rocson,

TMDS181 can function in two ways:
I2C mode
Pin strap mode

In Pin strap mode you have access to some configuration via input pins.
In I2C modem TMDS181 can work with default values but you won't be able to make adjustments. TMDS181 is slave only.

I recommend using GPIO mode, you don't need I2C and can apply some tweaking.
