TMDS181 AC coupling input

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMDS181

I would like to retime an HDMI signal from an Intel Broadwell CPU.

According to the CPU manufacturer the HDMI stream shall be set to AC coupling mode.

Does the TMDS181 supports an AC coupling input stream?

If yes, do I need to modify the input common mode?

by placing pull-down? which value could be recommended?

Thanks and Best regards

  • Hi Nicholas,

Those are good questions. This product is not supported on the High Speed Amplifiers forum. I will find the appropriate forum and move it for you.

I did a search of E2E and this part number was most often addressed in the Consumer and Computing forum, so I moved it there.  LS

  • Hi Nicolas,

If CPU manufacturer has HDMI signals DC coupled, it may actually be DP++.
For level shifting from AC coupled to TMDS we have redriver/retimer DP159 supporting HDMI2.0, redriver/retimer DP149 supporting HDMI1.4, redriver DP139 supporting HDMI1.4 and DP129 which supports up to 2.5Gbps
