XIO2001: Power Sequencing reset control question

Part Number: XIO2001

Hello,

Referring to the XIO2001 datasheet (revision January 2016) section 6.12.1, it's stating that the GRST and PERST to the device must be asserted and then the supplies applied.  Should the GRST and PERST be asserted low with a logic driver or is it sufficient to use a pull-down resistor?  Is one method safer than the other?

  • Hello,
We don't have a recommendation, either way will work, take note that GRST# has a 3.3K internal pull-up so if you use a pull-down you have to chose a value that allows the internal PU to have a valid high level when you de-assert GRST#.
Most Customers use an external driver.
    Regards
