TMDS181: Questions about TMDS181

Part Number: TMDS181

Hi.

I would like to inquire about TMDS181.

1. We want to do a swap. However, I would like to know if DR> 3.4 Gbps on the data sheet can swap only under 3.4 Gbps.

We want to use 6Gbps to do a swap, but I want to know if it is possible.

2. When setting Swap, I want to know if it can be set with Swap / pol Pin.

Or can you tell me if I need to control it with an I2C control?

I will wait for your reply.

Thanks.

Best regards,

Tyler

  • Hi Chun,

There are two kinds of swapping, lane swap and polarity swap.

If you need lane swap you can do it in GPIO mode with the swap/pol pin, it will work for all data rates without problem.

If you want polarity swap, this feature only works in retimer mode, by default TMDS181 switches from redriver to retimer mode at data rate of 1Gbps; you will have to configure retimer mode across all data rates and apply other changes.

In I2C mode, lane swap and polarity swap can be implemented at the same time.
