SN75DP130: Can use I2C to switch DP and HDMI mode?

Hi Team,

We do not connect CAD_SNK pin with DP connector, so if we plug in DP to HDMI dongle, it won't light up HDMI panel.

Can we use I2C to switch DP and HDMI mode?

Hello Daniel,

Unfortunately, this is not possible. This terminal is necessary to change between DP and TMDS mode in DP++ application.

Thanks for your comment.
We found a strange symptom. If we insert the DP cable first, then unplug DP and change to HDMI dongle, it can display HDMI panel successfully.
Is it possible if CAD_SNK pin is floating? Why the first DP cable insert would affect the final mode setting?

Hello Daniel

We recommend to use an external 1M pull down resistor, this pin is not failsafe. The DP cable is inserted in the input or the output? What kind of source do you have? Could you share more details about your application?
