SN65DSI85-Q1: whether SN65DSI85 can output two 1920*720@60hz display ? or help introduce others?

Part Number: SN65DSI85-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN65DSI85

hi

Can you help me check below block. I want to output two 1920*720@60hz display by SN65DSI85. I don't know whether DS90UB947Q and SN65DSI85 PLCK can meet display resolution, DS90UB947Q using 4 data LVDS.

if can't meet, please introduce other soution to me, thanks.

  • Hello,
Yes, the SN65DSI85 can support two 1920x720 at 60Hz panels.
    Regards
  • hello Joel

Can you help me evalute DS90UB947Q? when using one lane OpenLDI(data0~data3+- and CLK +-), whether DS90UB947Q can support 1920*720@60hz?

    thanks!

  • The device supports OpenLDI clocks in the range of 25 MHz to 96 MHz over one lane. Can you provide the actual pixel rate of your panel?
    Regards,
    Joel
  • hi Joel

I want to use DSI85 to splitter two display. i have confusion about operating mode.

If using the last mode(Dual DSI Inputs (two streams) to two Single-Link LVDS), what' the meaning of two streams? Is it independent two DSI ports or just dual DSI link(8 MIPI DSI lanes)?

My SOC have dual DSI link ( 8 MIPI DSI lanes), but it just to enhance transfer rate. SOC output a large resolution display by 8 MIPI DSI lanes, whether DSI85 can splitter two display using 'Dual DSI Inputs (two streams) to two Single-Link LVDS' mode ?

  • Hello,
You can use any of the following modes to bring up two panels:
    1. Dual DSI Input (Odd/Even) to Dual-Link LVDS
    2. Dual DSI Input (Left/Right) to Dual-Link LVDS
    3. Dual DSI Inputs (two streams) to two Single-Link LVDS

If your SoC does not support two independent streams for each DSI Channel probably you can try to send one stream through the odd or left pixels and the other stream through the even or right pixels and select either 1 or 2.
