SN65DSI84: Shift of the picture randomly

Part Number: SN65DSI84

Hi,

I have integrated in a standalone board a SN65DSI84 chip. It works quite well but sometimes, my picture is shifted from the left borderto the right border of my display with few pixels. Here below what is happening :

As you can see, the icon at the right is cut and finishes at the left. If we focus on the white line, we can see also that is it not aligned anymore (1 pixel bottom shifted). In this example, the colors remain the same despite the shift but sometimes the color are also modified (shift between RED and BLUE component if I remember well).

Anyway, most of the time this phenomenon occurs when the main power supply is switched off and the battery supplies the system. But I have a board where this phenomenon occurs even when only the main power supply is on.

What could be the reason that would lead to this "shift" of the picture ?

Regards,

Anthony.

  • Hello Anthony,
Probably the delay from when an HSync or VSync is received on the DSI to when it is transmitted on the LVDS interface is not configured correctly.
Please, provide the following details to understand your implementation:
Export a .dsi file from DSI Tuner
Generate a complete register dump (256 bytes), in both cases: display correct and shifted conditions.
    Regards
