I wonder whether the TUSB1310 provides full support for the optional USB On-The-Go (OTG) protocol detailed in the On-The-Go and Embedded Host Supplement to the USB 2.0 Specification . If yes, what revision? The only piece of information I could find in the official TUSB1310 documentation is the...

Shao Lei, To make the DSP capable of supporting USB 3.0 will require an external FPGA with athe USB 3.0 digital core in it along with our TUSB1310A transceiver - please see this blog post which discusses this in more general terms.

Hello, I'm trying TUSB1310A to work on USB2.0 mode. I checked that all strap pins are driven properly and set the ULPI registers, but D+ is not pulled up and ULPI_CLK is stopped. Do I have to do some other settings? Best regards,

  • Forum Post: Re: TUSB1310 USB3.0

    DHarmon DHarmon
Sebastian, The TUSB1310 (btw, we recommend the TUSB1310A) is only the PHYsical layer (transceiver) portion of a USB device. The "application" in this case your virtual COM port (VCP) is handled by the controller portion which for the TUSB1310(A) would need to reside in an attached FPGA....

  • Forum Post: Re: TI's PHY for USB3.0

    DHarmon DHarmon
The USB 3.0 Specification defines fixed bit transfer rates. The SuperSpeed USB bit rate is full-duplex 5 Gbps withseparate transmit and receive diff pairs that both transfer at 5 Gbps. In addition it mandates that a device MUST be backwards compatible to USB 2.0. The USB 2.0 specification again defines...

  • Forum Post: Re: TI USB1310 programming and core

    DHarmon DHarmon
All USB devices must consist of a PHY (in this case the TUSB1310 - BTW, we recommned the TUSB1310A) and the digital core. There is much more to the core than just the descriptors - it is what handles all the protocol required aspects of USB. There are cores readily available from multiple IP vendors...

Hello, I'm working on a project where the intention is to program a SPI EEPROM through a USB port. I can use the TUSB3410, but if I do that, I'll need another device to convert the RS-232 protocol to SPI protocol. So, I would like to know if there is a device similar to TUSB3410, but...

  • Forum Post: Disable PIPE3 interface on TUSB1310

    Richard Dunkley Richard Dunkley
Anyone know if there is a way to disable the PIPE3 interface on the TUSB1310 and just use the ULPI interface for USB 2.0? We want to interface it to an FPGA and just use USB 2.0 IP core (ULPI) for now and then do a software upgrade later to USB 3.0 without having to upgrade the transceiver.

The core your FPGA will determine if this is a host or peripeheral application. The PHY is controlled by the core accordingly.

  • Forum Post: Re: Absence of scrambler in TUSB1310A

    DHarmon DHarmon
Ashish, The scrambling function is handled in the digital core in the FPGA or processor, not by the TUSB1310(A). NOTE: The TUSB1310 is Not recommended for new designs in favor of the TUSB1310A.

    DHarmon DHarmon
Ashish, TI does not offer an evaluation module for the TUSB1310A since without the digital core in the FPGA, the TUSB1310A is non–functional. There are third parties which have boards already designed that have the TUSB1310A along with the FPGA available. We do have design guidelines in our...
