Hi, can I operate TUSB7340 on a PCIx Gen 1 Interface? I understand it cannot reach the full speed but it may not hang-up. thanks, Katharina

Yes, the PCIe interface can operate at Gen 1 x1. As you indicate, the throughput will suffer greatly.

I'm very interested in the new devices TUSB7320 and TUSB7340. Design data for a reference design are available as TUSB7320_DEMOEVM_REVB.DSN, but I'm unable to open it. I tried import via ALTIUM and PADS, but every tool tells me, the design is not valid. Are PDF files available for users, who...

    tripple_power tripple_power
The USB 3.0 host controller TUSB7340 has four USB ports which can run at SuperSpeed, i.e. 5 Gbps. On the other side only one PCIe x1 interface is available, which also can run at 5 Gbps (forget the protocoll overhead for a moment). Is it correct, that it is not possible to run more than one interface...

USB is a master-slave point-to-point bus. The host controller can only be servicing one peripheral at a time and therefore only one of the four downstream ports is actually active at any instant in time and therefore the upstream PCIe bandwidth does match the active USB bandwidth at any instant in...

At this point in time there are none since the devices have not released to production. The EVMs (TUSB7320EVM & TUSB7340EVM respectively) will be available from the TI eStore in about a week.

Hi, The Superspeed page at: TI Home > Interface > USB > SuperSpeed USB 3.0 states that the controllers support debug as well as legacy capabilities. However, I could not find any reference to the debug capability in the datasheets. There is reference to legacy support though....

Terry, It is also supported in Linux in the open source community, The latest supported Linux releases of 2.6.32 onward all have xHCI support, it just needs to enabled in the kernel configuration. Whatever is one's current source for Linux, that is where to go for the xHCI driver. Support has...

I'm using a USB 3.0 to HDMI Viewplex display adapter based on the SMSC UFX7000 device. I've tried it on two systems running Windows 7 (64 bit) and it appears to be working fine. However on the machine using a Texas Instruments XHCI Controller (Chipset ID TUSB7340) on a StarTech PCIe USB 3.0 Card...

Gene, When you say " I've tried it on two systems running Windows 7 (64 bit) and it appears to be working fine. ", is this with a USB 3.0 connection or USB 2.0 connection? I assume that the SMSC device requires driver installation, did that appear to go correctly behind the TUSB7340...

Gene, This sounds like a driver issue from SMSC. I am asking our team to try and test and see if they can replicate.

Gene, We have been exchanging information (and hardware) with SMSC. Hopefully between the two of us we will be able to identify the solution in the next week. One question I had, I am still not clear if you have been able to get it to work with any USB 3.0 host controller - not just the TI that...

Hi All I am currently working on integrating the TUSB7320 to be able to transfer data to a HDD. I have sucessfully used the TUSB7320EVM board to connect and acheive the data rate that I require. But we currently require a mini PCIe version of the PCB to be able to integrate into a small form...

Jeff, No the TUSB9261 can only act as a USB peripheral (target). You say you have a PCIe interface available, the the TUSB7320 or TUSB7340 are USB hosts with PCIe interface.
