Hello Everyone

My customer want to use SN75140P for new product design. The customer is very much concern about product life. Because their products life is more than 10yrs. Customer asking this life period will be OK or not.

Is anyone can answer this customer's concern?

Toyojiro-san,

SLL's statement is that we do not plan to obsolete any products.
If we have no sales for 3 or more years, we retire the product. This will not get an obsolescence PCN.

Do you know the build volumes expected and do they buy from TI directly or though distributors?

Thank you for your response. I'll inform SLL's statement to customer via distributor.

The volume is very small like less than 20k/yr though their products life is relativelly long. Customer said that the life is more than 10yrs. So they are concerning our product life. I'll inform your response to customer.

I did more research and this device is in danger of retirement. 20k/yr would keep it in production, but I suggest choosing another device.

Toyojiro-san,

Would a quad receiver be acceptable? Does the package have to be DIP? The AM26LS32 quad receiver footprint is very popular and also supports the RS422 standard. Therefore 10yr supply is safe. There are many choices in this foot print, but AM26LS32AC is currently the lowest 1ku price.
