Inquiry regarding interrupt output on TCA6416A

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TCA6416A

Hello, all

Now we have one inquiry regarding the interrupt output on TCA6416A from our customer.

Please refer to the item below, and feedback us with your comment.

When referring page 2 of the datasheet, it is described that "any input state differs from its corresponding Input Port register state".

However, we would like to set not to assert from INT pin on some particular situation of input differed state.

Please let us clarify whether this setting is possible on this device.

We thank you in advance for your information.

Best regards,

  • Unfortunately for this application, there is no "Interrupt Mask" feature on the TCA6416A.

An "Interrupt Mask" register would be an extra register in the register map that allows the interrupt to not be asserted by a state change.

The TCA7408 is the only I2C IO expander with an Interrupt Mask register, and you would presumably need to use 2 in your application.

    Regards,

    Brian
