Hello.

I'm using PCF8574 chipset for I2C bus.

But I want to control another system using SMbus protocol.

I saw PCF8574 datasheet and found only I2C/SMbus Master picture.

There are some SMbus expander.

I want to use PCF8574 which I have.

Is it possible to use PCF8574 for SMbus??

Hello Sukjae,

I am a little confused at what you asking. The PCF8574 is compatible with SMBus.

It looks like you are saying that you have a system like below:
SMBus master ------ SMBus Expander ------ PCF8574

If I am correct in this assumption, the PCF8574 is compatible with that system setup so long as you have a valid SMBus Expander which adheres to the SMBus standard.
