Can I use PCA9548A in multi-layer configuration?

What I mean is this:

I have about 55 I2C slave to communicate with, can I use the above configuration to access them?

Hello Hac,

This is ok to do. One thing to keep in mind, is that the I2C switches/multiplexers do not buffer the signals. So you may need to add repeaters in between some of the connection points if you experience communication issues. If you only plan to have 1 path turned on at the same time, you should be ok, provided your trace lengths are relatively short.
