Hi, men:

We meet a question about TCA9406YZPR. we want to know the output and have it wrong output voltage?

We use VccA =1.8V VccB=3.3V

The SMBus level-shifter TCA9406 Vil_max allows 0.15V. If the SMBus input is 0.4V, we want know the output how to show.

Is the output high level(3.3V) or low level(0V) or other voltage? Could you tell us the condition while Vih> unknow(as 0.4) > Vil ?

Hi Cash,

You will see an output level low + some offset depending on the voltage you are putting into the device. With the 0.4V SMBUS you should expect more voltage on your output.

Depending on if power consumption is an issue for you, take a look at our TCA9517. With the input you are using, you will fix your output to a static 0.5V.

Hi Cash,

The offset increase is a function of the IOL current. For the same IOL we the input offset should increase the same amount on the output. Please refer to Figure 5 of the datasheet to see the block diagram.

hi, Siby James:

The SMBus level-shifter TCA9406 Vil_max allows 0.15V. We want to know below condition on our design.

If the SMBus input is 0.4V while the Vil_max at the TCA only allows 0.15V.

Will the output access wrong or cause communication issues? Is the design feasible for use?

As stated above, the design should be feasible, but you should expect higher offset voltage.
