TXS0102- Output voltage level

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TXS0102

Hi There,

Our customer uses TXS0102 for 3.3V <--> 5.0V level shifting on PWM signal.
(Input : VCCA=3.3V,   Output : VCCB=5.0V)
Our customer was measured to output signal level. But the actual measured value of the 2.6V
External pull-up resister(2k ohm) was added to the output line. The result was 3.3V

< Our customer's Output spec >
 --> Trace lengh : About 60cm (PCB Line)
 --> Output Load : Max 3mA

Can not use the TXS0102 in this specification?

Thanks.

  • Hi,

    When output is high, the source current will depend on voltage and internal pull-up resistor. For example, if power supply is 3.3V, the interna resistor is 10K, the current source is 3.3/10k when output is high. So if outpt load is 3mA, DC high cannot be up to 3.3V. So when expternal 2k pull-up resistor is added, the equivlent pull-up resistor 1.67K ohm. Then current source will be up to 2mA. 2mA could meet the outload requirement.

    So if TXS0102 is used in the application, the external pull-up resistor is needed to meet output load reqirement.

    Thanks
