All,

I am trying to drive TXB0106 from an open drain sensor (I understand it is not designed for open drain signals. But we are trying a proof of concept with all available components and we need to do it quickly). Is there a way/work around to make it work. Vcca = 3.3V, Vccb = 5V. Sensor signals are to be drived from B to A.

Do you have a schematic and can you give me a bit more information about what you are trying to accomplish.

I am pasting the schematic below. Is there a work arround to make this work (I understand that this part is not designed for open drain, but it will some time before we get new parts).

Would your sensor work with 50K or greater resistors? I have attached the guide for the TXB. It also states in the datasheet the following:
C. If pull up or pull down resistors are needed, the resistor value must be over 50 kΩ.

D. 50 kΩ is a safe recommended value, if the customer can accept higher Vol or lower Voh, smaller pull up or pull down
resistor is allowed, the draft estimation is VOL = VCCOUT × 4.5 k/(4.5 k + RPU) and VOH = VCCOUT × RDW/(4.5 k + RDW).
