TXB0106 Vlow output ~500mV

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TXB0106

We are using a TXB0106 in a UART interface between a micro and a GSM module, but we are getting a strange output signal on the 1V8 side.

The schematic is this, with R259, R261, R192 and R194 fitted.

This is the output we are getting on the 1V8 side:

Can you tell me why this is happening?

Thanks,

G

  • Graham,

Interesting that the overshoot only occurs on the falling edge (I usually see it on both edges). Overshoot is typically caused by a heavily inductive transmision path, coupled with very rapid drive strength.

    1. Can you tell me the resistance values of R259, R261, R193 and R194?
    2. Is the signal undershoot observed on all 6 data ports (i.e. A1 thorugh A6)?
    3. Do you have a scope shot of the input signal?
    4. Does the input signal have symmetric rising and falling edges?

    Best Regards,
    Nirav
