May I know what are the differences between MAX3221E and TRS3221E?

Is TRS3221E more cost competitive?

Philip,

There is no difference between the two TI devices.
You may use them interchangeably.
TRS is just a TI brand name.

Philip,

You can try same names without the "E" suffix. The reduction in ESD protection should come with a price reduction.

If you have a 5V supply and can use a different pin out, MAX232 and MAX202 are low price.
