ABOUT DATASHEET of TRSF3221E

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TRSF3221E, TRS3221E

Dear Sirs

About DATASHEET of TRSF3221E.

#1 Could you explain the following table in detail?

#2 And What is VALID RIN RS-232 LEVEL?

#3

In the following yellow line of the following table,

The input is the same (DIN FORCEON /FORCEOFF),

But OUTPUT DOUT is not the same.

Could you help to explain? Thanks~

BRS

  • Nat,

All the questions seem to have the same theme.

If FORCEOFF is high and FORCEON is low then the device will enable and disable the driver (DOUT) based voltages at receiver (RIN).

If all RIN pins (in this case the only RIN) are un-powered, meaning between -0.3V and +0.3V, then the TRS3221E will disable the DOUT pin making it high impedance (Z).

RIN between -0.3V and +0.3 is considered an invalid RS232 input.

RIN greater than +2.7V or less (more negative) than -2.7V is a valid RS232 input.

For other input voltage the signal may or may not be valid.
