Auto power down /Auto power down plus

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN65C3243, TRS3243E

Hi Sir,

Sorry to bother you.

I've some confused at TRS3243E and SN65C3243.

TRS3243E power saving is Auto power down, SN65C3243 power saving is Auto power down plus

What different between plus/non plus??

Thanks

  • The difference is in the timing before deactivation.

Auto Powerdown just waits for the receiver pins to be inactive for 30us.

Auto Powerdown plus waits for 30s.
  • Shu-Ceng,

Here is a little more detail.

The difference is in the timing before deactivation.

Auto Powerdown just waits for the receiver pins to be inactive (unpowered or unplugged) for 30us.

Auto Powerdown plus waits for 30s; but will also shutdown when there are no changes on any DIN or RIN (for 30 seconds).
  • Hi Andrew, Ron

    Thanks for your kindly reply.

    I've another question at TRS3243E.

For now we have use competitor Intersil ISL4241EIR (QFN32),

Without changing the premise of layout, We would like use TRS3243EIRHBR

We have check the pin out betwen Intersil/ TI, they are different at PIN 20/21/22

    ISL4241 pin 20/21/22 are R1outB/ SHDN/ EN, TRS3243E are INVALID/ FORCE OFF/ FORCE ON.

At used ISL4241 design, Pin20 floating, Pin21 tied to 5V, Pin 22 tied to GND.

We think we could use the same setting at TRS3243E but we wrong, it's no working.

We not sure what's missing? could you help provide experience for us? Thanks!

  • Shu-Cheng,

ISL4241 will have receivers and drivers always active.
TRS3243E will have receivers always active and driver is only active when at least one receiver has an input greater than +/-3V.

In what way does it not work?
