DP83867IS: Auto MDI-X support in Mirror mode

Hello, 

We want to use Mirror mode in 10/100 configuration. 

so, in this case, as mentioned in datasheet - A map with D and B map with C. 

We want to map - A with C and B with D. is this possible? 

is this Auto MDI-X applicable for mirror mode also?

    Hi Tarang,

    Auto-MDIX works in mirror mode, as well as forced MDI/MDI-X mode. I believe this will solve your connections needs.

    Hello Rob, 

    so, as per your statement, if we can  connect "PHY MDI pair C to RJ-45 pair A" and "PHY MDI pair D to RJ-45 pair B". the only thing we need to assure that the PHY should be configured in mirror mode. 

    I got confused from the datasheet statement in section 8.4.6.7 (attached snapshot). As with this statement in MDI and MDI-X both configuration A is map with D and B is mapped with C.  

    Please just reconfirm this.

    Hi Tarang,

    The table is slightly confusing in that it shows the connections of the drivers inside of the PHY only related to the port mirroring option.

    The MDI/MDIX mux is post port mirroring, and as such, channel A will still act as channel B when in MDIX mode.

    I think this section of the DS can be clarified and I will queue that change.
