DP83848Q-Q1: Packages on several EVMs

Part Number: DP83848Q-Q1

[ DP83848 ] Packages on several EVMs

Hi,

Can you help me to figure out which EVMs have which package mounted on it?

As far as I check, there are two different type of EVMs for DP83848 on TI.com.

DP83848I-POE-EK
PHYTER® Industrial Temperature Single Port 10 100 Mbs Ethernet Physical Layer Transceiver
www.ti.com/.../dp83848i-poe-ek

DP83848I-MAU-EK
PHYTER® Industrial Temperature Single Port 10 100 Mbs Ethernet Physical Layer Transceiver
www.ti.com/.../DP83848I-MAU-EK

However, it seems that there are four different combinations of EVM and packages on price book.

DP83848H-MAU-EK

DP83848I-MAU-EK/NOPB

DP83848I-POE-EK

DP83848K-MAU-EK

Does this correspond to each package options?

I'm bit concerned that the BOM of MAU board says slightly different (really old info, though).

It's appreciated if you can double check.

Thanks,
Ken

  • Hi Kenichiro-san,

You are correct about package size on the EVMs. DP83848I-MAU is the best selection for the DP83848 in the QFP48 package.

What part of the BOM of the MAU board is concering you?

  • In reply to Rob Rodrigues:

    Hi Rob,

Thank you for your confirmation. My customer is looking for PHY with automotive grade, so DP83848Q would be the suggestion for them.
(It seems DP83848LFQ(wettable frank) is still in PREVIEW.)

    Since DP83848Q is QFN40, so I would suggest DP83848H-MAU-EK.
Just let me know if it causes any of issue.

    Thanks,
    Ken

  • In reply to Kenichiro:

    Hi Ken,

This is correct. The customer could use the DP83848H-MAU or the DP83848J-MAU.
