DP83867IR: Top case temp spec?

Hi team,

The max operating junction temp of DP83867IRPAPR is 105C in datasheet. Additionally, can you let me know the max top case temp (at max load)? A customer needs this spec.

Hi Sam,

You should be able to derive this from the thermal resistivity coefficient in the datasheet for junction to case resistivity. Usually this number is quite low and the top of the case is 1 C or 2 C hotter than the junction temp.

Therefor the max top of case temp will be approximately 106C. Please see the datasheet for the thermal coefficients and the max power dissipation of the PHY is ~650mW in worst case conditions.
