Referencing the below drawing; we are not able to pass Ethernet packets thru the loop-back; but we are able to achieve 10G link to IXIA. Seems like the Retimer is stripping off protocol so we are not able to loop-back as shown in drawing. Interesting note is when we attach the loop-back port to 10G switch we can pass Ethernet packets no problem between IXIA and switch.
