DP83867E: SFD timing adjustment?

Part Number: DP83867E

The datasheet of the DP83867E devices says in section 8.3.2 "The exact timing of the pulse can be adjusted through register. Each increment of phase value is an 8-ns step.". I could not find a "register" that allows to change the timing of the pulse. I guess what is meant is that the real TX_SFD to RX_SFD timing requires correction which can be read from registers as is described in 8.3.2.1?

  • Hi Roel,

Yes, the TX_SFD and RX_SFD timing pulse needs a correction as described in 8.3.2.1, and those SFD pulses are delayed by 8ns steps as described.

The software in your MAC should take the delay from the FIFO skew registers and apply it to the SFD timing.
