DP83867IS: DP83867IS

Part Number: DP83867IS

Dear Team,

In our custom board, we have configured DP83867IS in RGMII Mode.
Observations:
We have probed following,
GTX_Clk-5MHz
RX_Clk-2.5MHz
MDC_Clk-1.34MHz

RX_D0 and RX_D2 pin-Getting expected voltage as per mode configuration(when reset asserted).

The issue is we are able detect PHY, but link is not up.As per datasheet,During power initialization DP83867IS reads strap configuration. The values are available in register 0x006E (STRAP_STS1) and register 0x006F (STRAP_STS2). When we trying read above mentioned 0X006E register, always returns value as 0x0.This register doesn't reflect strap configuration.

Please kindly help me to resolve the above issues .

Regards,

Hemantha Kumara N K

  • Hi Hemantha,

Reading register 0x6E and 0x6F will need extended register space access. Has that been implemented in your application?
Incorrect strapping might also cause the PHY to get a incorrect ID. Can you read register 0x00 and 0x01? What values do you see?
