DS280BR810: DS280BR810 PCS max loss and cable type loss parameter

Part Number: DS280BR810
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS280DF810

Our user need to track the DS280BR810 details parameter for 100G application

some questions need to confrim

1, How much PCB loss level the part Input/output can catch or applied

2, We user 8 pcs DS280BR810 on board, could we connect  "CAL_CLK_OUT(Pin.E15)" to next part CAL_CLK_IN together?

3, How long the part can support on PCB and cable, that parameter more influence the PCB design and cable select. thanks.

  • Hi,

    1. The DS280BR810 can increase the normal ASIC - to - ASIC transmit receive capability by 15 dB @ 12.5 GHz

    2. Yes CAL_CLK_OUT can be connected to CAL_CLK_IN.  The DS280BR810 does not use these pins, but this connection could potentially allow the use of the DS280DF810 Retimer if additional compensation is needed on the channel.

    3. There are many attenuation variables within a PCB or Cable construction. Typically cables have a lower attenuation per unit of length. To maximize the channel extension using a linear equalizer, the crosstalk levels will need to be carefully controlled to keep the signal eyes open.
