DP83867IS: LED_3 polarity on GPIO

I believe you are using 48 pin DP83867 and referring to LED2.

LED polarities are adaptive in nature. Based on the external strap on the pin, they adapt the driver to drive high or low. Please refer to LED Configuration section of datasheet for details.

Please search for LED_3 in snls504b. See the second and third sentences under Section 8.5.2, value 0110 in Table 100 and also Table 32.

If you pull LED_3 HIGH, the pin will be configured as an ACTIVE LOW.
If you pull LED_3 LOW, the pin will be configured as an ACTIVE HIGH.

You can enable LED_3 function using register 0x18.

Please clarify which pin (number) you suggest should be pulled, and when. Strap Configurations are normally only sampled at power up or hard reset according to Section 8.5.1. LED_3, however, can only enabled later. So when is the LED_3 polarity configured internally? Or is the polarity continuously configurable (on the fly) when the LED is inactive, which is what you seem to be suggesting?

LED_3 is actually enabled using register 0x172. Register 0x18 only determines the function once enabled.
