DP83822HF: Pin select Full MLT-3 on Tx+ and Tx-

Hello,

Is there a way to pin strap the DP83822HF device so that it defaults to full MLT-3 mode (Class A), verses writing 0x0024 to the LDCSEL register?

If not, do you know of any other p2p PHY's that will default in this mode? The customer is using this without a transformer and would like this to be the default mode without writing to the registers.

Hi Keith,

The limitation to program register is coming from timing requirements or limitation on the host controlling MDIO ?

We don't have any p2p to DP83822 which can offer default full MLT-3. Incase p2p is not mandatory requirement, we may look at DP83848. See below App Note

Hi Geet,

The limitation is on the host controlling MDIO; there is no easy way to implement in the current system. However, options are to add a transformer or change the PHY. In any case, this answers the question.
