TUSB4041I: Shorting D+ or D- of a USB port to VBUS or GND
Part Number: TPD6S300A
I need to protect a USB 2.0 port from shorts to VBUS.
I found the TPD6S300A for USB type-C port protection for VBUS short, is there a similar device more suitable for USB 2.0 or can I use this one for protection against VBUS (5V) short to data lines?
If your system is using a USB 2.0 port, I would recommend the TPD4S014 instead.

In reply to Adam Mc Gaffin:
Dose the TPD4S014 protect from VBUS short to D+ or D-, at the event of a broken cable or debris in the connector shorting VBUS straight to one of the data-lines?

No it does not
