Part Number: TUSB8041

Hi Team,

Does TUSB8041 USB HUB have support Andriod system?

Thanks

Kevin

  • Hi Kevin,

TUSB8041 uses generic hub drivers and does not require any special software to support different systems.  Please note that the TUB8041 does not support USB role reversal (host / device swap)  operation.

    Hi JMMN

The problem is that our customers use this TUSB8041 to hot plug the external USB flash in the down stream port.
In the Android system, sometimes it will not be recognized.

For this question, is there any suggestion to help how to judge whether the exclusion is not a hardware problem? or is it related to the software OS?
Use USB 2.0 flash to plug can be recognized normally.

If use the USB 3.0 flash to plug it is easier to see that the device cannot be found.

    thanks

    Kevin

    Hi Kevin,

The TUSB80xx hubs have no known issues with Android systems, this seems implementation specific.

Is the problem only with USB 3.0?  Can you confirm that the power provided to the USB 3.0 flash drives is not dropping below 5V when the devices are enumerating?  USB 3.0 device can consume over 1A during enumeration.

    Regards,

    JMMN

    Hi JMMN,

Ok, I will ask the customer to confirm. Is the power provided USB 3.0 flash drive lower than 5V.

Use USB 2.0 flash to plug can be recognized normally..
It’s all happening in USB3.0 flash driver, tried  many brands, have Transcend, Kingston...etc.

    thanks

    Hi Kevin,

Do you have any more information about the connection fail?

    Port related?

    Errors reported to the host?

What does the host look like for a good connection / bad connection?

    Can you send a schematic?

    Regards,

    JMMN

  • In reply to JMMN:

    Hi JMMN

Ok, I will try more information about the customer side, please wait a moment.

    thanks

    Kevin

  • In reply to Kevin.Peng:

    HI Kevin,

I am closing the thread until the customer has a response.  Just post to reopen it.

    Thanks,

    Hi JMMN,

    Again more information,
    1. Using CPU Qualcomm SDM450
         OS: Android 7.0
    2. The USB 3.0 (including 2.0) host signal from the CPU to TI TUSB8041
hub has 4 port USB 3.0 (including 2.0) port.
    3. Symptom: Using USB1.1 & USB 2.0 flash is normal can to know the device.
But using USB 3.0 flash, it is can not be found (Transcend 16GB, Kinston 16G, Sandisk 32GB)
Plugging again sometimes can found or that are sometimes not found.
    4. Power: 5V, confirmed, in plugging and unplugging is stable and no power down.
    5. Please check the schematic diagram, or sent the complete schematic diagram to your reference.
    6. If the hardware does not see the problem, is it a software problem? Or what is the situation?

    thanks

    Kevin

  • In reply to Kevin.Peng:

    Hi Kevin,

Can you confirm if the hub remains connected to the host at both USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 speeds?  I just want to confirm the issue is with the connection from the hub to the devices.

    Regards,

    JMMN

  • In reply to JMMN:

    Hi JMMN,

Please receive the message complete schematic.

    Architecture diagram as show,

The client software RD found that the USB does not enumerate the log. Is the USB hub not sending the interrupt signal to the host?
How do you know that when the USB device is plugged in, there is indeed the signal is sent to the host?

Which signal is to be measured?

    Is the schematic correct?

    Thanks

    Kevin.
