Part Number: TPS65981

I have TPS65981 EVM board. When I create my own firmware in TI Application Customization Tool,  the USB device (CDC) cannot connect via TPS65981. The device is powered. USB RP enable field in System Configuration window of TI Application Customization Tool is set.

When i flash recovery EVM Firmware, the device connection is fine.
What can i do to solve this problem?

  • Hi, We would like to know the modifications that you made in the fw and also, please share the modified configuration file with us.

Hi, Could you share the details of your test setup (please share the block diagram if possible)? I did not get it fully. Are you using  TPS65981 on the host side with Billboard enabled and trying to enumerate a CDC(Communication Class Device) device (on the host) that is connected to the Type C port of EVM? if yes, please disable all USB 2.0 communication on TPS65981 and give it a try.

    Thanks

PC does not detect the device whether USB2.0 endpoint billboard enable bit is on or off

  • In reply to Andrey Pankov:

Hi Andrey, I could not test your project file due to some issue with my setup. I'll get back to you by next week.

Meanwhile, please disable USB EP and give it a try if you have not tried it yet.

    Thanks

Hi Andrey, I got my boards yesterday and tried to repro the issue with the project file you had shared earlier. But, I could not repro the issue. Please note that I used USB 2 mouse instead of CDC device for my test. Please find my test setup attached. Have you tried any other USB2 device other than the CDC device?

    Thanks
