TL16C752C: MCR register bit3

Part Number: TL16C752C

Hi all

Would you mind if we ask TL16C752C?

<Question1>
On the datasheet P31, there is the description "IRQ Enable 0" on the MCR register bit3.
Does it mean that this register indicates IRQ Enable and default status is "0"?

<Question2>
On the datasheet P36, there is the description as follows;
 0 = Forces the IRQ(A-B) outputs to high-impedance state
 1 = Forces the IRQ(A-B) outputs to the active state
 In loopback controls MSR[7]
Just in case, we would like to confirm one point.
About 1 = Forces the IRQ(A-B) outputs to the active state, does "the active state" mean Enable, right?

Kind regards,

Hirotaka Matsumoto

  • Hello Matsumoto-san,

    Yes, bit 3 of the MCR can be used to enable or disable the IRQA/B outputs. The default state is 0, meaning disabled. If the bit is set to 1, then the outputs are enabled (referred to as "active" in the datasheet). I hope this is clear, and please let me know if you have any further questions.

    Regards,
    Max
