Hello,

My customer has a question about LMH1983.

[Q]

Please tell me the details of the power down function to control with Powerdown bit (0x05, bit 6).

D/S does not contain details.

* They want to know which function blocks power down in D/S P.12 8.2 Function Block Diagram.

* What is the state of the status pins (NO_REF, NO_LOCK, NO_ALIGN) when Powerdown bit is 1 ?

According to the chip designer, this powerdown bit (Reg 0x05[6]) will only power down PLL1's charge pump block (this will cause PLL1 to lose lock). There are separate register bits to power down PLL[2:4] blocks. The logic outputs and I2C blocks are always enabled.

When Powerdown bit is 1, NO_REF will behave normally, NO_LOCK will be 1 (since PLL1 would lose lock, assuming MASK_LOCK1 = 0), and NO_ALIGN will behave normally.
