TMDS442: Problem when output is converted from HDMI to VGA

Hai,

I am trying to use HDMI to VGA converter cable at the output connector of 4X2 HDMI matrix board (TMDS442), but the display is not coming at the output. But when i connect the HDMI to VGA converter directly from source to monitor then the display is appearing. Can anyone tell me what is the problem and if anyone knows the solution please let me know as soon as possible.

Are OE/, 5V_PWR and HPD_SINK being set correctly?

Yes, all those are set correctly, but i have a doubt that the converter is having compatibility of HDMI 1.4 version and our TMDS442 is having compatibility of HDMI 1.3 version. Does this make a problem or not? Can you please tell me the possibility of occurance of my question and please revert me as soon as possible.

Thanks for reply, I am using HDMI to VGA converter having 1920X1200@60Hz. Can you tell me the HDMI version matters or not?

HDMI resolution depends on source and monitor, it's nothing to do with TUSB442 and HDMI to VGA converter. Can you check the display resolution without TSUB442? if it's over 1080p, than TUSB442 will not support

Thanks for the reply, I have checked the screen resolution of both source and monitor they exceed over 1080p, but problem is when i am using HDMI switcher then the picture is coming on the output display but when i am using the HDMI to VGA converter then the picture is not coming on the monitor with the same source and monitor.

2: source to switch to monitor
3: source to converter to monitor

I have done same testing with all the different sources, switchers, converters available with me. I have done following steps.
1. Source to monitor - working
2. Source to converter to monitor - working
3. Source to TMDS442 Switcher to monitor - working
4. Source to TMDS442 Switcher to converter to monitor - working
5. Source to third party switcher to monitor - working
6. Source to third party switcher to converter to monitor - working
7. Source to third party switcher to TMDS442 switcher - working
8. Source to third party switcher to TMDS442 switcher to monitor - not working
9. Source to TMDS442 switcher to Third party switcher to monitor - working

Only with TMDS442 Switcher it is not working. Can i know the reason as soon as possible.

Hai Brian,

The sources which i am using are having 1080p resolution, TMDS442 also supports 1080p and the output display is also having 1080p. then what is the problem?

Hai Brian,

Both source and monitor are having maximum resolution of about 1920x1080.

so if maximum resolution of about 1920x1080p at 60hz, there should be no problem. also I saw you mentioned before

Thanks for the reply. Sorry for the wrong report, i have typed it wrong in this condition " Source to TMDS442 Switcher to converter to monitor" it is not working. and maximum resolutions are 1920x1080p only . I don't know where the problem is occuring. I have tried with HDMI 1.3 version converter also their is no impact on the result. Do i need to enable any pin in TMDS442 to overcome this problem?

the first converter only support 1Gbps from Amazon website, 2nd even worse. It looks converter itself may just works marginal. Switch may add some loss and didn't work with converter together

those converters are pretty expensive, not sure what is the purpose of your application.
