PCA9306: PCA9306+ISO1541

Part Number: PCA9306
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ISO1541,

Dear Team,

Below is the schematic. I2C signal will go through PCA9306, ISO1541 then AT30TSE758A which is a temperature sensor.

We found that I2C command be sent from PCA9306 to AT30TSE758A is OK.

But if I2C command be sent from AT30TSE758A to PCA9306, then it will fail.

Could you please help to clarify this I2C problem?

Thank you.

  • Hey Jim,

"But if I2C command be sent from AT30TSE758A to PCA9306, then it will fail. "

Do you have scope shots of what this looks like from At30TSE758A and from what our PCA9306 sees?

I also notice you have capacitors on side 1 of the ISO1541, those capacitors violate the maximum allowed capacitance on side 1.

Page 23 section 9.2.2 also mentions this limitation, you may want to remove this as I believe this device could be sensitive to the capacitive loading on side 1.

When you say that communication fails, do you mean you are receiving a NACK or or something else happening?

    Thanks,

    -Bobby

  • Hi Jim,

Have you had a chance to review Bobby's questions above? These will help us better understand the issue. Or, has this been resolved already?
