TPD4E05U06: TPD4E05U06DQAR SATA INTERFACE

Part Number: TPD4E05U06

Hi,

Is it advisable to use TPD4E05U06DQAR for SATA interface?

in the datasheet it is mentioned as for eSATA it can be used, but in my design I have SATA interface along with USB 3.0, USB 2.0, SD CARD, HDMI, where I'm using TPD4E05U06DQAR ESD chip. so for BOM optimization will this be used for SATA also.

thanks

Sathiya

  • Sathiya,
If you are referring to 6Gbps SATA then yes the TPD4E05U06 can be used. However this is a unidirectional device so if you are AC coupling the signal you will need to put the device before the AC coupling capacitors.
Also make sure that the common mode signal is 5V or less (I believe it is 3.3V)
