DS90UB953-Q1: EVM question

Hello AJ,

953 and 954 work in the same format and same frequency (4G / CSI mode)
914A and 964 work in 2G/ DVP mode.
so if you want to use any CSI device with any DVP device, you need to set the CSI device into DVP mode and 2G frequency

Please follow these steps:

1) Use an external Oscillator on the 953 side. This oscillator should be connected to the 953 (Non-Synchronous CLK-IN Mode) .
The value of the Oscillator-CLK depends on which Mode you are using and depends on which data Form (RAW10 or RAW12).

2) set the right resistors values on MODE pin (at the 953). The values depends on which Mode you want to use (Non-Synchronous CLK-IN Mode)

3) Set Register 0x03[2:0] MODE_SEL to one of the DVP modes and 0x03[4] to override the mode (if required).
 
4) On the 914A side you shouldn't do anything special.

4) Now you should have LOCK which means there is connection.

the 913A and 914A EVMs will show you on the GUI as it is paired with one out of them. these will not show you if it is paired with 953 for example!
but this does not matter, main thing if you can see the registers.
