TPS65987D: Vconn OCP for Thunderbolt3

Part Number: TPS65987D

Hi, everyone,

Our design contains
- Thunderbolt3 (TBT3) device using Intel Alpine Ridge.
- TPS65987DDH

In TBT3 specification, Vconn OCP must work in 530mA ~ 730mA.

But TPS65987D seems to work Vconn OCP around 900mA.

How can we satisfy TBT3 spec ?

Please tell us WA.

Our base FW version is F707.10.05.

Hi Maurice,

Intel has adjusted the 'min' of 'iVCONN_Short' upwards to 530mA to account for the designs that use higher current limit for VCONN, but didn't change the 'max' - This should be changed to 900mA. We are passing with this updated specification and a waiver could be requested for this case.

Hi Maurice,

We confirmed with Intel that the Spec has changed for iVCONN_Short. They are notifying all the test houses of the change. You should be passing this test case now.
