Hi Sir,

My customer want to know 983B's PPEXT's short circuit protection point for their end customer's reference but we can't find the data on document. Would you please helping to provide it? Or can customer modify SCP point in GUI? Thanks for your response.

Hi Gary,

In the event of a hard short when sourcing on PP_EXT, it is expected to see about 25-30A momentarily before the FET opens to protect the system.

Hi Eric,
So we can't set SCP point for PPEXT on GUI for TPS6598x right? Or we can set that thorugh I2C?

Hi Gary,

The OCP point is selected through FW. Each TPS65983B Project Template is optimized for the Intel Reference Design projects that they use.

Hi Eric,
I know OCP can be selected for each PDO. My customer want to know can we set SCP threshold in GUI?

Hi Gary,

It is not possible to change the short circuit protection through the GUI. This is handled automatically through FW.
