DS90UB940-Q1: Text information transfer using 941/940

Part Number: DS90UB940-Q1

Hi Team,

Customer use 941/940 to transfer data from CPU to Cluster. When transferring simple text information from CPU to cluster, such as Caller ID, should it use SPI to transfer? What about using I2C to transfer? And customer also has concern about the stability and security. Because SPI and I2C have master-slave relationship. So Could you please help for the following question?

  • How to use 940/941 to transfer text information such as caller ID from CPU to Cluster? SPI?
  • Can I2C use to transfer text information from 941/940 to 940/941?

Thanks for your help!

  • Hello,

    In the following IVI context

        Application Processor -> DSI Video -> Serializer <-> FPD3 <-> Deserializer -> CSI Video -> Display Panel

                                            <-> I2C       <->                                                            <-> I2C <->        Touch Controller

    If the Caller ID information is to be displayed, it needs to go over the Video interface.

    If the Caller ID information affects the Touch Controller it can be sent over the I2C interface.

    If the Caller ID information comes from a phone module, to the Application processor this is upto the customer, if its not I2C.

    Regards,
