hi

I have some question about DS90UB954-Q1 and DS90UB953-Q1 Mode selection  when use ShieldedTwisted-Pair (STP) Cable.

I noticed that DS90UB954-Q1EVM and DS90UB953-Q1EVM connection by Single-Ended Coaxial . But now I want to use ShieldedTwisted-Pair (STP) Cable to connect them on our own board , and bith DS90UB954-Q1

,DS90UB953-Q1 are work in CSI-2 Synchronous mode.I found the configuration of the mode pin from the 954 and 953 data sheets, just like the below.

But I didn't see the choice about COAX/STP.

Could somebody please help to confirm how to connect UB953/954 in STP and which mode we should follow?

Thank you and look forward to hearing from you as soon as possible.

  • Hello,

You may enable either STP/Coax mode in the register settings of the 954 in register 0x6D [2]. If you are using the ALP, you may also select the information tab . In the RX port configuration section, there are options for cabling where you can select either Coax/STP. Please see the 953 EVM user guide for info on that (includes pictures).

    Thanks,
    Sally
