DP83620: direction detection (MDIX) issues? wrong direction detected?

Team,

I have seen the below post that talks about an issue with MDIX mode that detects wrongly the direction:

-Do we have more information on what culd lead to a wrong direction been recognized?
what tests could be down to narrow downth issue?

An other question:
-what can happen if JTAG is used but reserved pins are left unconnected?
-Would it place the device in some test mode that could alter the operation?

Customer is in production stop.
Could you still please help to debug the issue?

What would be the steps to do to narrow down and find the source of the issue?
What register would help issue to understand better the issue?
