DS125DF410: Bypass the CDR setting

Hi Team

Would you advise that

When setting CDR Bypass, “Bypass CDR, output is no delayed and must be set bit 5 of register 0x09 and bit 7 of register 0x3F” is written at the bottom of Table 6 of P22 of the specification document.

register 0x3F is reserved and when you look at that register in Sigcon it is displayed as UNUSED.
Do I need to set this register?

Hi Shidara,

Channel register 0x3F actually does not need to be written to in order for CDR bypass function to become effective. Sorry for the confusion.

There is following description in page 23.

Regarding this description it seems the setting is required to prevent output mute. Is the REG 0x3F [7] = "1" really not needed ?

If the setting is not required. Please also delete the above sentence, too.

Writing to register 0x3F is not required for enabling CDR bypass mode. We will look into possible datasheet updating.

FYI

We found that REG 0x3F [7] should be set to "1", in the case when you want to bypass the CDR (use as a repeater / redriver).

If you don't, the device would periodically mute the output.
