Part Number: TPS25810
Customer product is NB that use TPS25810 to 5V/3A output via type C. But they concern it will have damage issue while user connect 20V adapter for type C. How to design protection circuit for this situation? TPS25810 has integrated power switch. Have diode on power switch for reverse current protection? Has any suggestion for this requirement? Thank you.
No, the TPS25810 does not protect against RCP and would be damaged if a 20V adapter was connected directly to it. You can refer to the following app note that walks through how to implement a system that would be tolerant for a 20V adapter using the TPS25810 and TPD1S514-1.

Per app note, the device can handle OVP up to 30V, but TPD1S1514 OVP of datasheet maximum OVP voltage is 14V for TPD1S1514 -3. Could we know why is the difference? Thank you.

First, there are three variations of the TPD1S514. The TPD1S514-1 has the lowest OVP threshold, which is needed when connected to the TPS25810 as the OUT pin of the TPS25810 can only withstand a max of 7V. The Vovp voltages that you circled above are cutoff voltages for that specific TPD device. So for the TPD1S514-1, it would have a max cutoff voltage of 5.99V, but the device itself can withstand up to 30V. Hope this helps answer your question.

I would add the 250 ohm resistor in between the two devices as shown in the app note.
"A 250 Ω (1/4 W) resistor on the output of the TPS25810 was selected to pull down the TPS25810 OUT pin voltage enough to stay within its ABS MAX rating due to reverse leakage from the TPD1S514-1 while 24 V is connected to VBUS_CONN"
