DS90UB954-Q1: Single-ended coax mode - RX0+/-

Part Number: DS90UB954-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS90UB953-Q1EVM

Hello TI community,

My colleague and I designed a board containing DS90UB954-Q1 Deserializer device. We wanted to work in single-ended coax mode with both ports, RX0 and RX1.

Due to layout limitations, we couldn't connect the positive end of RX0 to the coax connector, so we "switched" between RX0+ and RX0-. RX1 is connected according to the datasheet recommendation (i.e RX1+ coax connector, RX1- to ground).

See a "sketch" of the scheme that describes this connectivity:

According to the datasheet, when working in coax mode, there's symmetry between the positive and negative end, so we thought it should work.

Unfortunately, port 0 doesn't work (no PASS/LOCK indication in this port).

What can we do to make it work?

Thank you,

Shai

EDIT: I forgot to mention that the board is designed to connect to Serializer DS90UB953-Q1EVM, and was tested with this evaluation board.
